Itinerary
Your safari begins with a pickup from your Nairobi hotel. Travel toward Kenya’s Northern Frontier, famous for its rugged and dramatic scenery. Upon arrival at Samburu National Reserve, enjoy lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. This will be your first opportunity to spot some of the region’s unique wildlife and admire the park’s breathtaking landscapes.
Spend the entire day discovering the incredible Samburu ecosystem, home to the Big Five and the special “Samburu Five”—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx.
Expect sightings of elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, ostriches, and more. With over 450 bird species, the Waso Nyiro River attracts kingfishers, vultures, and numerous migratory birds, making Samburu a paradise for bird lovers.
After breakfast, head south to the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive around the famous soda lake, known for its vast flocks of flamingos that paint the shoreline pink. The park is also home to black and white rhinos, lions, hippos, buffaloes, and warthogs.
After a light breakfast, depart for the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive. With over 450 recorded wildlife species, the Masai Mara offers exceptional game viewing year-round. Depending on the season, witness wildebeest and zebra migrating from the Serengeti.
You may also meet local Masai tribespeople and learn about their ancient culture and traditions.
Spend the full day exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara in search of its most famous residents—the big cats (lions, cheetahs, and leopards). Herds of elephants, zebras, antelopes, and many more species roam these plains.
If travel coincides with the migration season, you may witness the dramatic wildebeest river crossing, one of Earth’s greatest natural spectacles.
Enjoy another exciting day in the Masai Mara. This is your chance to revisit areas you loved or explore new sections of the reserve. A picnic lunch will be served in the wild, surrounded by incredible wildlife activity.
In the evening, enjoy a cultural visit and dinner at a Masai village, followed by a relaxing bonfire under the African night sky.
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a final game drive as you exit the park. Take in last-minute wildlife sightings before returning to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel—marking the end of this unforgettable 7-day safari adventure.
